Letters, 1861-1867.

The collection contains letters from Enos Stimson to J. Ballard & Sons and Charles P. Ballard of Athens, Ohio. The letters were written from Homer, New York, and Lafayette, Indiana. The letters describe investments, and the purchase and sale of contracts for hogs, cattle, corn, lard, and wool. In the larger historical context these letters were written during the Civil War and contain numerous anecdotes on the political and economic events of the time.
